Sunset Park Presents Thrive Sports

Thrive Sports launches tomorrow with our inaugural 3-on-3 basketball tournament at Sunset Park. Thrive Sports is a collaboration between Thrive Collective and Coach Damian Rosado of Rosado Recreations, and builds off a combined 45 years of sports-related, youth development programming in New York City.

Damian was born and raised in Sunset Park, and was introduced to sports as a child at the Sunset Park Recreation Center. Last year alone, Damian’s tournaments and skills and drills leagues served 2,500 children and teens citywide. His network of community partners and student athletes, combined with Thrive Collective’s network of 100 public school partners, is the foundation for Thrive Sports.

Damian is no stranger to Thrive having volunteered on his first School Murals project in 2011 and even traveling to Mexico with Thrive in 2015. Welcome, Damian, officially to the team.
