Bronx Connect RTG North x Thrive Collective Rhymes Help Young Minds Excel present “Make a Change”

“Make a Change” is an original song written and performed by Nakwon, Drip, Nello, Corey, and Randy Mason. The beat was generously donated to R.H.Y.M.E students for non profit use by producer Jabez beats. The song was recorded at RTG North studio, mixed and mastered by Daniel Shriner of Heart of Gold Recordings. Participants met twice a week with Randy Mason, Thrive Collective teaching artist, to learn about the art of emceeing and songwriting. The theme that emerged during their time talking, writing, free styling and recording was “change” How do we effect change in and around us? That was the question that inspired the lyrics. Participants wrote and recorded the song “Make a Change” shot the video and even recorded a follow up song titled “6 Month Plan” which expounds on how the group intends to make change. Upon completion of the R.H.Y.M.E program participants were enrolled in our audio engineering program where they are focusing on the ins and outs of audio recording and production with producer and audio engineer Chris Deroux. Thanks for watching! Stay tuned.
