JDHS x RHYME x Speek Lyfe

JDHS students in Brooklyn NYC met twice a week for 12 weeks with Speek Lyfe / RHYME teaching artists Lawrence and Paul Coles for the 2024 spring semester to collaboratively write, record and film an official Hip Hop song titled “Push through Follow Through.” JDHS students also collaborated to create a school podcast and school mural. Special thanks to JDHS, Lawrence and Paul Coles & Eric Mason. The song was written by JDHS scholars, recorded at jdhs. Music video shot by Eric Mason.

The RHYME program at JDHS was part of a larger Digital Arts Academy collaboration sponsored by Project Pivot, where teaching artists from Thrive, Projectivity, and Speek Lyfe facilitated podcasting, hip hop music, and murals programs throughout the academic year.
