PS 60: View from Alice Austen

Thrive Collective partnered with Projectivity Group to produce a series of indoor and outdoor murals at PS 60 in Staten Island. For this mural, artist Josue Mendez upgraded the front entrance with a colorful homage to the school’s namesake. PS 60 is named after Alice Austen, a famous Staten Island-based photographer from the 19th and early 20th century. Her house has been turned into a museum and sits on the lower NY Harbor. This mural depicts the view from her home.
