Grand Street: Rooted

Featuring Art Direction by Peach Tao and Nico Collazo (2017)
  • 0

The three high schools at Grand Street Campus have long partnered with Thrive Collective for assemblies, mentoring, interns, art programs, and more. “Rooted” represents the second mural completed by students at Grand Street students after “Legacy” by Progress High School in 2014; and the first completed as a campus-wide collaboration with students from all three schools. Thanks to the generous support of NYC Council Member Antonio Reynoso and the Cultural Immigrants Fund at the Department of Cultural Affairs, “Rooted” illustrates how education and cultural heritage together provide the foundation for students to thrive in NYC, regardless of their birthplace or immigration status.

Grand Street: Rooted

Approximately 150 students from six classes at all three high schools on campus collaborated on the mural. Thanks to the fantastic partnership with Progress High School; the High School for Enterprise, Business, and Technology; and Legal Studies.
