Cedar Hill High School: Cedar Hill CHARGE!

Featuring Art Direction by Sam Wisneski (Dallas 2024)

The “Cedar Hill Charge!” mural is an expression of the energy, vitality, and creativity breaking loose at Cedar Hill High school. There is a strong sense of pride within the student body around school activities such as academics, sports, music, and the arts; as well as a strong work ethic and a pursuit of excellence overall.

The school mantra, “Turn Those Horns Loose,” focuses this composition and represents much more than just a sports anthem. Students strive for a life worth living, grabbing the bull by the horns, specifically a Longhorn. Inspiration fuels an inner fire, embodied by the Longhorn school mascot. In the mural, it acts as a driving force that the students are working to harness.

Beyond showcasing student activities, the mural celebrates the power of relationships by honoring the legacy of Mrs. Shay Whittaker. Principal Whittaker made a profound impact and lasting impression on all who knew her. In the mural, a student is rendering Mrs. Whittaker’s likeness as a remembrance of a great human being and as inspiration for treating others with the love and kindness that had been shown to them.
