Every Day, New York City’s public schools create neutral spaces for children and parents to connect with each other regardless of race, religion, gender, creed, and all the -isms that commonly divide us.
Those connections become the foundation for friendships, and those friendships the basis for love – the kind of love that drives out fear. When we don’t fear each other, racism, xenophobia, religious persecutions, bigotry, and hatred of all types fade away. Who can hate what we have grown to love?
Happy Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate today.
