Growing Pains: BMCC Healing Through Hip Hop 2024
R.H.Y.M.E x BMCC
Thrive Collective R.H.Y.M.E Rhymes Help Young Minds Excel in partnership with The Borough of Manhattan Community College present the 2024 spring semester BMCC Healing Through Hip Hop program and showcase. BMMC students met with R.H.Y.M.E teaching artists Jason Roberts and Thomas Fucaloro weekly for the spring semester to explore rap, songwriting, poetry and the creative arts as a tool for healing and an alternative to traditional talk therapy. The program culminated in a student led showcase where participants shared original songs, and poems with their peers, BMCC staff and community. This is the third edition of R.H.Y.M.E at BMCC. Once again students expressed gratitude, growth and excitement for the next season of R.H.Y.M.E at BMCC. Stay tuned!
Special thanks to the BMCC Counseling Department for making this possible. Ms. Neda and Ms. Sybil! Thank you to R.H.Y.M.E teaching artists, Jason and Thomas, the Thrive/Rhyme team, Thrive Collective videographer, Eric Mason, and of course all of the sensational BMCC students.
