“Believers” by Bronx Arts Elementary

Bronx youth are still making Hip Hop happen in the Bronx.

RHYME Cover ArtHip Hop began in the 70’s as a youth movement in the Bronx. Today Bronx youth continue to contribute to the art form and culture both as students and practitioners. Check out “Believers,” our latest song and music video featuring Bronx R.H.Y.M.E (Rhymes help young minds excel) students.

The song was written by 5th grade scholars at the Bronx Arts Elementary school in the Hunts Point section of the BX during our R.H.Y.M.E winter 2021 semester. In partnership with Thrive Collective, The Point CDC, Projectivity and La Bodega Studio. The program was lead by Randy Mason, teaching artist and R.H.Y.M.E director. The students wrote about pursuing their goals and dreams amid adversity. A message that definitely resonates especially in times like these. Thanks for watching, sharing and supporting. Shout out to Christian Penn for providing the beat and Rob Ayala for designing the cover art. Stay tuned! R.H.Y.M.E is coming soon to a school near you.
