Since November, visual arts teaching artists Naomi Kuo and Sam Wisneski have worked at IS 117 and The Young Women’s Leadership School on a collaborative school mural in their shared Bronx building. Here’s the initial concept drawing based on the student’s work for an interior mural at the main entrance. The theme, “I Am the Bronx,” imagines the community students from both schools are creating together. Note this is not a finished design, simply an initial concept that will be refined with further input from the students and schools this week.
