Extreme Mural Makeovers

The Dream Walls inspired everything. In 2007, we had no idea that a one-off school beautification project would plant the seeds that would eventually mature into:

• One of NYC’s largest arts education non-profits in Thrive Collective;
• Thrive’s flagship Murals programs, which have expanded beyond NYC to California, Maryland, Texas, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and Mexico; and
• Over 600 completed murals to date and counting.

Finally, we had no vision that the original Dream Walls project, which resulted in four distinct schoolyard murals plus six columns, might someday set the standard for what has become our Extreme Mural Makeovers. (Please note: “makeovers” does not include live art events or mural festivals.)
