Longtime partners Lead.NYC invited Thrive Collective to facilitate another event mural at Movement Day NYC for a second consecutive year. This time facilitating the mural was longtime teaching artist Marissa Molina, and the up and coming Nico Collazo. Conference guests explored the Creator theme by filling in the blank: “Create in me/us ________.” An added bonus this year was participation by our friends from Latino Pastoral Action Center (LPAC).

Leaders reproduce leaders for generations. Rev. Dr. Ray Rivera, Susana Rivera Leon, Rosa Mercado, and the entire LPAC family have mentored our own Jeremy Del Rio for two decades; and LPAC was the first investor in what is now known as Thrive Collective. Their seed funding for three years are ultimately responsible for the great work our artists do at schools citywide. We were delighted for them to meet former students turned art directors and teaching artists Marissa and Nico as they facilitated the project.
